If there ever was an organization that should get the hypocrisy award of the century it is Sense about Science, the mother organization of Voice of Young Science. This organization recently attacked the homeopathy competition in Africa, ( a major emerging drug market) in a letter to the WHO and misrepresented the response.
The organization’s industry sponsors include drug companies, medical publishing companies, research institutes dependent on drug company financing and genetically modified food makers. Riddled with ex-drug company PR people this organization is now charging ahead to get themselves free of any legal responsibilities for what their representatives say- like the skeptics and Dr. Colquoqon’s “serious ethical breach” in his attack on chiropractors. Their newest ploy is to “free scientists” like this, ” from libel”. They call it science, I call it drug company sponsored hypocrisy and others have called it a “serious ethical breach”.
OK, be a lobby group for drug companies, GMO companies, and medical imaging device companies but do not represent yourself as a “voice of science” or being “sensible about science” or an independent body as they like to do.
