George Vithoulkas and a number of researchers and medical doctors who both work in hospital settings and also practice homeopathy took up the magician Randi’s million dollar challenge for applying a test to prove homeopathy works. They spent much time in setting up and establishing the test. Randi’s foundation even initially had observers in place for the test. But Randi kept calling it off.
Now Randi, after many years of eluding these research scientists and professional homeopaths, has totally called it off and simply claimed that the reason for doing this is that George Vithoulkas is “self deluded”. This sounds awfully familiar- a skeptic side step that happens frequently in most of their blasting about homeopathy- they say the reason that homeopathy doesn’t work is that it is “implausible” or that it “doesn’t make sense to me ” or Randi says it is “delusional”. Ah, the elevation of opinion to scientific fact.
Years of magic tricks by Randi has deluded his followers into thinking that skeptical opinion is science. It also continues the blood libel against homeopathy and other alternatives to pharmaceutical drugs.
Randi was a second rate magician who came to prominence when he distracted a prominent French scientist Benveniste’s assistants with magic tricks during an experiement that showed that homeopathic remedies were active. They miscounted and Randi then went on to claim as a result of his subterfuge that homeopathy was bunk and made a new career out of it. Like Ben Goldacre, being anti- h0meopathy has provided a clear public branding and a multitude of financial opportunities. Randi also continued to destroy Benveniste personally and career wise. He is attempting the same thing now with the pro-homeopathy scientists and George Vithoulkas a prominent homeopath. Again, similar to what gimpyblog does -attempting to destroy prominent homeopathic professionals, (at least Randi does it in public, albeit because his followers are deluded enough to like his flair for publicity and his magic tricks).
Soon- a resurrection of Benveniste’s experiment in 7 labs but done with a new technology doing the counting. I wonder what magic trick Randi will have in response to the startling results and will he give the million to one of the 7 labs that did the experiment? I’m sure after many years of obfuscation Randi will just continue his magic tricks much to the delight of his deluded skeptic followers.
He he. This is a funny post. There’s nothing in it, is there? At 30c and above (below?) there’s nothing in there. The mistake that you are making is focussing on Randi. There is a groundswell of people who are waking up to the proposition that homeopathy makes.
You’re in the spotlight. Explain. Is there anything in it at 30c??
Andy
Sorry…should have said “Hi” first. Hi.
Andy, Hi.
Well, for sure, there is something in there and there is something in there that Randi doesn’t want others to know about.
Of course for those who can only understand the world from a materialist point of view there will be nothing. So tell me what is there in a sense of well being, what is there in what keeps us on the ground, what is there in the will of a person that helps them to recover or not. Andy what you are saying is that in your opinion there is nothing in the world beyond the material. That’s absolutely fine. Fortunately there are those who feel differently and see the results of this knoweledge everyday.
